'Symposium Naoorlogse Monumentale Wandkunst', Amsterdam, Dec 2018 On Thursday 6 December, the city of Amsterdam is organizing a symposium on post-war monumental wall art. In the past two years, Amsterdam's monumental wall art from the Reconstruction Period (1945-1975) has been inventoried and assessed at the request of the City Council. In this symposium, a number of speakers, will discuss post-war wall art from different angles: -Martijn Sandberg, artist and member of the Sounding Board Group for Wall Art -Meinke Horn, advisor for wall art, Lex Horn Foundation -Simone Vermaat, Rijksdienst voor Cultureel Erfgoed and member of the Sounding Board Group for Wall Art Date: 6 December 2018, 2-6 pm Location: House of Watt, James Wattstraat 73, Amsterdam A publication about the inventarisation of the Postwar Monumental Wall Art Amsterdam will be published. It includes a text contribution by Martijn Sandberg, entitled 'Het Handschrift van de Tijd' ('The Handwriting of Time').
